Q. How soon should a child be evaluated by an orthodontist?
A. Some children are excellent candidates for orthodontic treatment, even though they may still have some “baby teeth.” It is beneficial for you to have your child evaluated by an orthodontist by age seven to assess any problems that may be developing.
Q. I am a 55 year old woman. Is it too late for me to have orthodontics?
A. It’s never too late. In fact, I consistently see great results because most adults are more compliant than some youngsters. And, today there are many options available to you. You’ll be completely evaluated at my office to see which method is best for your particular case.
Q. Are there other options other than metal braces?
A. There’s a whole menu of options other than metal braces. We offer Damon Braces, which feature clear brackets, Invisilign and Harmony Custom Lingual Braces, which is a digitally customized wire that fits behind your teeth. We’ll go over these options in full when you visit my office.
Q. I hesitate to have orthodontic treatment because I really hate those messy impressions.
A. Good news! NO messy impressions in your office. A wand with a camera inside, is passed over your teeth capturing a perfect image which is used to digitally reproduce an impression. No mess, no gagging. It’s just another way to make your orthodontic experience a pleasant one. Dr. Cohen was the first orthodontist in eastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey to incorporate digital impressions in orthodontics.
Q. How much do braces cost?
A. I can’t give you an exact fee for your particular case. It is based on the extent of treatment needed and the type of treatment you opt for. We are able to offer you options for payment for orthodontic care.
